At UNCBD COP16 in Colombia, we collaborated with Kenya Youth Biodiversity Network to bring together youth from around the world to explore the opportunities and concerns of integrating nature-based solutions into updated NBSAPs. Read on to find a summary of these youth perspectives!

That’s a wrap! 2021 has been a long yet fulfilling year for our community. While these stories bring us from mountains to deserts to coasts, they carry the complexity of raising deep concern, while also showcasing the beautiful landscapes and resilience in Afrika and its people. While international law has not given human rights protection to people being forced to migrate because of climate, it should be a priority for young people in the climate movement to make sure that every single community is included in the discussion, and that we are using the power of multiculturalism to create more useful and accessible solutions that can help those people not just to adapt to the climate change consequences, but also to co-lead on the solutions with other young people around the world.
In observance of the twin Diversity Days 2021 (World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, 21st of May; International Day for Biological Diversity, 22nd of May), our #YourStoryOurFuture Storytelling Campaign is running a month-long special call-out for compelling and strong stories from youth that bridge society, culture and nature.
