Ibrahim Inusa (he/his) is a young climate, nature and environmental advocate, and father of two. He was born to the Indigenous people of Machina, Machina Town, Yobe State, North Western Lake Chad and North Eastern Nigeria - the most degraded and the most vulnerable landscape on the Sahel and dry Sahara region of the country - located between Nigeria and Niger Republic, a desert border deteriorated by armed conflict and destroyed by desertification.

Ibrahim is the founder of a youth and children advocacy organization, Nature Conservation Advocates for Climate Initiative (NCACI), where he advocates passionately and engages young people living on the Sahel part of Nigeria in the urgent action for climate and nature. NCACI empowers and builds capacity for youth and children around sustainable management and revitalization of degraded farmland, that would otherwise leave many to hunger due to low yield from harvest as a result of devastating drought intensified by the changing climate.

Ibrahim is currently pursuing a post graduate diploma in Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies from University of Maiduguri, North Eastern Nigeria, and is researching how the 17 SDGs could serve as disaster risk reduction and resilience strategy in Nigeria if fully implemented. Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Engineering with hounours from University of Maiduguri (Unimaid). He is also a certified member institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science of Nigeria which give him the title of MDMSS (member disaster management and safety science).

Coming from the conflict affected zone deteriorated by Boko Haram insurgent for over a decade, Ibrahim attended the 2nd United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) where he built his capacity on basics of conflict analysis for sustaining peace and understanding. He also learned about the major trends and consequences of violent conflict related to the needs and interests of diverse stakeholders, and the dynamics supporting or undermining peace efforts across the north Eastern Nigeria.

Ibrahim is currently the Coalition Leader at Yobe Youth Coalition for Environmental Challenges (YYCEC), a rapidly growing, ambitious, and dynamic group of youth and youth organizations calling on Yobe youth to stand-up and confront environmental challenges such as proper waste and deforestation management. YYCEC connects with passionate young people who volunteer to build a sustainable community where people and nature can thrive around Yobe State and beyond.

Ibrahim was an active Global Ambassador at Youth4Nature for over 4 years.
