Emily is the Storytelling Programme Director for Youth4Nature, previously the Campaign Assistant during the first year of the initiative. Active in the climate and environmental justice movement since 2018, Emily particularly focuses on policy and advocacy issues around livelihoods and food systems, adaptation and resilience, and intersectionality and just transition.
Holder of a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and a Master of Arts in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex, Emily's scholarly interests include political economy, social ecology and knowledge production, approached through critical, participatory and decolonial lenses. Outside from academia, Emily has a variety of experience in civil society organisations, campaigning and multi-sector projects, mainly focused on addressing global and social challenges.
Born and raised in the Basque Country (Spain), and from a West-Central African background, Emily is currently based in Brighton, the UK. Beyond the world of work and studying, Emily enjoys creative writing, reading and blogging.
