“Conserving and restoring ecosystems can prevent further degradation and will abate the conditions of the emergence of other infectious diseases,” said Elizabeth Mrema, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention on Biodiversity. “The One Health approach will not only promote sustainable health and just recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, but it will also serve broader health objectives beyond the absence of diseases.
