In collaboration with the Poster Toolshed, Youth4Nature is launching the Poster Art4Nature project on September 29, 2020 during our Youth Session at the UNDP Nature for Life Hub, part of UN Climate Week and the Biodiversity Summit.

Why Posters?

Art has the power to communicate messages, tell stories, motivate people and responds to the "emotional cylinders" that are necessary to power and social movements, including anger, urgency, hope, solidarity and agency (Ganz).

Posters in particular have been used extensively in social movements over two centuries as they trigger these emotions so directly and in a language that anyone can understand .

You Decide… Co2 Emissions - serafim zahariev; Burping Cow - Bernardo Margulis; All Other Living Things - Scout Pronto Breslin; WWF Campaign by Ogilvy; Plenty Of - Bags of Joy.

The Art4Nature Project

The Art4Nature Project will be an ongoing initiative, with the first phase focusing on the 2021 UNFCCC and Convention on Biodiversity COPs. Longer term, we are interested in building a global, expansive and growing collection of youth created posters for nature that can support different projects, campaigns, and be used for advocacy and education in schools, public spaces, protests, exhibits, and more. We are excited to use this medium to amplify the voices of youth, to inspire people to action and to contribute to critical efforts to fix our relationship with nature.
